The paper explores the mobile-based library service skills and competencies of the Library and Information Science (LIS) professionals working in the college libraries affiliated with the University of Delhi. The present study collected the data from the respondents through a structured questionnaire using the survey method. The questionnaires were distributed among 171 LIS professionals of 74 college libraries affiliated with the University of Delhi through visits, personal meetings, and email, eliciting a response of 87.1 per cent. The findings showed that most LIS professionals were not competent in mobile-based library service skills and competencies, and college libraries did not provide Mobile-based library service skills to their users. Hence, LIS professionals must update their skills and competencies in mobile technologies to help users access resources on mobile devices. The authors advocate that LIS professionals in
college libraries must know the application of mobile technologies in their operations to save time and add value to college library services.
