Abstract

Content analysis is a systematic analysis of occurrence of words, phrases, concepts and so in books, films and other kinds of materials. In modern research content analysis is used to illustrate the range of meanings of phenomena describing the characteristics of message content and identify themes and categories within a body of text. Today, tourism information is popular and very frequently searched information by the users in the internet. Tourism websites are very popular now. The study aims to analyze and evaluate the various information services provided by the West Bengal tourism websites. To analyze and compare the website contents the study
examines ten (10) West Bengal tourism websites. By analyzing all the information it is seen that West Bengal tourism websites support their target users by providing adequate information. By evaluating the websites it is found that all the tourism websites are reliable, most of them have clearly mentioned authority and purpose and selective coverage of destinations. Most of the websites have unbiased and clear objectivity and they have current information for their users. In some sectors, the websites should be improved, maintained and modernized by the application of ICT to reach more users.
