Abstract

Open Educational Resources (OERs) are freely available, openly allowed text, media, and other digital resources that are useful for instruction. The purpose of the study is to explore the creation, use and practice of OERs by faculty in three universities in Delhi. Data was collected through a well-structured questionnaire from the faculty of Jamia Milia Islamia,Jawaharlal Nehru University and the University of Delhi through Google forms. From the analysis,it is found that the majority of the faculty are aware of the concept OERs and there was no significant relation among awareness of OER resources, open license, CC license. Also, there was no significant
difference among the involvement of faculty in using, developing, modifying and recommending OERs. They developed OERs and made them availableglobally. They also recommended others to use OERs. However, the IT infrastructure and lack of time cause them the delay in creating and making them available for others. Most of the faculty lack technical skills. The copyright laws are not much familiar and hence suggested to have a regular training either from a division of its own and / or by the library professionals to educate for the same.
