Abstract

The present study attempted to assess the disaster awareness research output in biomedical literature as data collected from PubMed for the period of 2011 to 2020. Different bibliometric tools and techniques were used, for e.g. annual publication outputs, growth of publications, authorship pattern, affiliating country of the author, citations received by all publications, top 10 cited articles etc. A total number of 1187 articles were published on Disaster awareness in biomedical literature during this period. The study revealed that the highest number of papers has been published in 2020 and the lowest numbers being published in 2011. The highest annual growth rate was found in 2014 with 0.59. The authorship pattern indicated that the discipline is dominated by Multi- authored papers (93.43%). USA topped the list of affiliating countries with the share of almost 50% publications, 78.35% articles received at least one citation. The most cited paper is on coronavirus diseases which got 115 citations till the study period.The findings of this study will benefit researchers associated with disaster related research to find out new ways of awareness.
