Abstract

This study examines, evaluates, explores, and ranks eleven selected NAACaccredited college library websites/pages of Kazi Nazrul University. It also reveals the accessibility, accuracy, currency, interactive, comprehensive and user-friendliness of websites. The websites are ranked based on earned scores and are assessed on a five-point scale. It has further highlighted various services and facilities being offered by the library with their library resources. This study also looked into the use of web 2.0 or 3.0 technologies in libraries and how they are compared to established standards. The data was collected with the help of a well structured checklist. According to the findings, 100 percent of the library's websites/pages are linked with the college's home page. Out of eleven, only one (9.1%) of library websites provides information regarding 'Statistical Report of the Library', 'Digital Library/ repository', 'Online Book Requisition', 'Online User feedback'. A significant weakness in any library website is the lack of a 'Differently-abled section' with zero entries (0%). Very few libraries have their own social sites/pages. Only one college library, 'AGC' earned a score of 48 out of 52 with a rating 'Excellent' (ranked 1st); three libraries, BBC (ranked 2nd), DWC (ranked 3rd), and BCL, earned 'Very Good' rating. Two libraries, DM and KC, obtained a 'Good' rating. Three college websites, KUC, MMMC, and RGC, have an 'average' rating and the rest, TDBC, have the lowest score.
